New Cv Axle Leaking Grease

In retrospect, i could have bought a boot kit from honda, but did not want to mess with the grease and not knowing if the joint is busted or still intact. With extended use, wear, and tear, the cv boot can dry out which results in tears and cracks.

Unfortunately, the new cv's didn't take care of my original issue of the thumping noise.

(but still have safe, sufficient weight on the jack stands) you don't want to try and put the new clamp on with the axle hanging down at an angle, stretching the boot. In my case, i did not know how long the axle have been leaking grease and ended up replacing the axle with honda oem part.

Drove around today and then went under the car and its still leaking! The worst case is you will have to replace the axle half shaft, which is what you would do anyhow.
